Nottingham Announce Aurier, Their 22nd Signing!

Nottingham signs even with the market closed. Today the club, newly promoted to the Premier League after a 23-year absence, announced what is their 22nd signing of the summer. This is the Ivorian winger Serge Aurier, who at 29 years old joins Forest after being released from Villarreal.

Precisely the fact that Aurier was separated from any club has allowed Nottingham to enlarge its very long list of reinforcements and extend the record of signings made in the same window, surpassing the previous mark of 17 of Crystal Palace in 2013.

Work permit pending

The signing of Aurier is pending obtaining the work permit, while Nottingham does not specify in its statement the duration of the contract signed by the player. Steve Cooper’s team, despite the revolution of its squad after spending 162 million euros, has not started the Premier League well and occupies the penultimate place with 4 points in the first 6 days.

Aurier returns to the Premier after playing for Tottenham between 2017 and 2021. He began his career at Lens and has also played for Toulouse, PSG and Villarreal, where he also arrived on a free contract in October 2021.
